Hey Guys and Gals,

Just curious if anyone has or has used the chronoarch mg. I've been looking at it very hard. I want a light weight set up to throw 1/8 oz jigs. I've been throwing them on my 6'6" medium st. croix legend with a pfluger supreme but I think it would feel better to have a lighter set up. The mg weighs 5.9 oz only 2/10 of an oz more than the steez. Abu has the Revo Premier that feels nice, but it hasn't been out that long. Then there is the shimano Core that is light, but I don't like it a bit. I'm going to put this reel on a 6'8" ML croix legend rod. Opinions? Thanks for the info!

I like the StCroix rods, guess that's why I have eight of thre rods. The only difference is I use Medium with a fast tip. Just pair the rods with the right reel for the correct balance. Not sure what size reel you have paired with the rods.

My buddy built a 6'6" medium light rod for me on a St Croix scv blank. He put titanium guides on it and made a burled cork handle. I put a chronarch 50MG on it. It is a beautiful rig and a joy to cast. Light as a feather. Before I use a new reel I strip it down and clean all the factory grease out of it. Then I polish with jewelers rouge the spool shaft, inside the pinion gear, the brake ring and the drag faces. then I use a little powdered graphite on the drag and Quantum hot sauce on the gears and bearings. Makes a good shimano even better. turp
