Fishing has been great this week, the water is finally shaping up. The river has cleared up a lot this past week, we are finally getting some decent dry fly fishing, not it is not perfect, still high and colored, but in the eddies and the edges of the river the fish are rising to caddis, and tricos everyday. Lots of nice fish were caught on beetles, adams, royal wulffs and humpys, and a few nice fish have been caught on cahills.

Good numbers of trout have been caught on the pheasant tail/zebra midge combo, we have been fishing the black, brown and the red zebra most of the time, copper johns, and prince nymphs have also been good.

Small glo-balls and chamois worms have been working very well also.

Olive, black, and brown woolybuggers have been good all month, and the tan woolybuggers have been good at times.

We are starting to catch a lot more fish on cracklebacks and woolyworms.

With the clearing of the water we are using more 6X tippet, you can still use 5X first thing in the morning and I use 5X most of the time when using woolybuggers.

If you are fishing a spinning rod, the woolybugger jigs in olive, black, brown and tan have been working very well.

Roostertails in brown, skunk, black, and green have all been working well.

Crankbaits like the rebel crawfish and the rapala minnow have been working pretty good, and if you can fish a spoon the little cleos and the small castmasters are working.

Plastic worms and plastic eggs are still catching the most fish in zone 1, the orange, white, and the hatch brown eggs are working best, and in the worms, the orange, white, cheese yellow and the orange peal have been working the best.

In zone 3 minnows, night crawlers and corn are still producing some nice fish. Now that the water is clearing, 2lb line will be important, if the 2lb line is to small, then 3 lb can be used, but in a few days 4lb will be to heavy to work really well.

Good luck on the river this week.
