Me and my son went up to fish last night. He's 8. We fished from 6:30 - 8:50. As soon as I was within sight of the bottom below the dam all I could see was cars. It was about as busy as i've ever seen. I knew it had to be good fishing. Well between the 2 of us we had 2 walleye and 7 whites, with 1 descent hybrid. I only seen 1 crappie caught and it was too short. The water isn't a very good color IMO. It still had a muddy look to it and has lots of current with pretty big waves out in the channel. It defintely wasn't the best trip ever, but I did get a bowl full of fillets. I just wish I could afford to drive up there everyday.

Hey vonreed, great to hear you got out, and took your son no less. I was wondering where you caught those walleye and the hybrid. You fish from a boat or from the shore? What ya catch them on? I'll be at the lake next weekend, and I'm thinking about going to the dam for a day or so.

Thanks, best of luck on the water,

Paul

IF I WERE TO TAKE A GUESS ON WHAT VONREED CAUGHT HIS FISH ON OR WHAT HE WAS THROWING I WOULD BET HE THREW A PURPLE BETTLE! ha ha. I JUST TALKED TO TIGHTLINE AND WE HAVE A SUCKER GRABBING TRIP PLANED FORE IN THE MORNING, BUT AFTER READING VONREEDS REPORT WE MAY SWITCH TO PLAN B IF THE RAIN COMES IN AND GO TO WARSAW. VONREED SEND ME A PM AND GIVE ME TO STORY. SLIDER

DONT EVER GIVE UP MOSES WAS A BASKET CASE ONCE!

Hey Jack, I used a variety of different soft baits. The best was a white slider though. And yes I used a purple beetle too, lol. Don't tell everyone the secret fish catching lure or they'll all be gone by tomorrow, lol. I fished off the bank. Although I'd like to try a boat sometime for something different. I threw a topwater plug also with no luck, I think the water was too dirty. Good luck.

Crowded both sides?

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Crowded both sides?

No, not the South side, but the way the current comes out of the dam, I imagine it was really swift on that side.
