Members tkite Posted April 23, 2008 Members Posted April 23, 2008 We did all right this weekend. We stayed at Big Cedar and I couldnt believe my eyes when we got down to the water. I've never seen the lake anything like it is now. We went out Saturday and stayed around the resort as we only had 3 hours to fish before show . My buddy caught one on a jig and that was it . I was getting very worried. Sunday we did alot better we ran up to Jake Creek. He started throwing a Strike King Pro Model Spinnerbait with a perch looking skirt and a #4 and a #7 gold Colorado blade. I thought he was nuts throwing that big thing till he caught 3 spots between 2 and 3 pounds off the first dock we came to. Being the good friend he is he gave me one just like it and we caught at least 10 spots Sunday Monday and Tuesday morning all before 9am and almost all on boat docks. WE looked for beds but didn't see any . Guess they were out a little deeper. We'll this was by far my best trip to table rock for numbers and was very happy. Didnt catch anything over 3.5 but most were big fat legal spots. My buddydid lose a nice one that wrapped him on a dock line. One last thing sure looks to be alot of old timber from the lake floating in the brush. Do you think it is a significant amount of the timber from the lake or do you think when the lake goes down you wont be able to tell it lost any of it?

You'll have to tak to the guys in the know on here about if water will clear up around Big Cedar by then, because I haven't the foggiest idea. We caught almost all of our fish on big spinnerbaits with big colorado blades. I was real surprised when I got home and saw most struggled this weekend because we caught them pretty well . Sometimes luck is better than skill I guess.
