Went out to fish the front. Went by fast but what a difference. I am ready for 90 degree weather!

Caught 3 whites before the wind and drissles hit.

I was cranking a guppy.

Looks like Taney is back to about normal level again for a while! Hope it stays like that & starts to clean out a bit. At least now there is less chance of being "Rockaway Beach - on the shores of upper Bull Shoals. Bull is still at 694 but falling slowly. I think it's evaporating, not through the gates! If the wind will calm down, I'm gonna try some flatfish & spinners by Empire. If things look good enough, I may try jigging some spoons & jigs deep. I finally broke down & put a front fishfinder in the front. It's an old Garmin 80 that had the ant. mount broken. I did some drilling & reworking & strapped it to my trolling motor. Son-in-law gave it to me & it works good. (He thought I was too cheap, & would never buy one in time). LOL Speaking of "cheap", I think I may buy a spare batt for the troller and use it instead of the 35 hp for trolling. At the price of gas, I could pay for the batt in about 3-4 weeks. Not much else to tell, hope to come back from Empire with a boat load of tales. Pomme is down to 9' high and falling 1/2' per day. I may get to use my dock this year afterall! The trout tournament last weekend was really stressed. It was out of Rockaway & most fished lower Taney. I think the big fish was under 2 lb. They said they really had to work for them.

Hey DC

The electric trolling motor idea is good in theory. One, it really only gets you moving fast enough when there is no wind or traffic, and two, at full throttle your battery will only last you about an hour or two. Especially if your like me and only troll up current.

The lower lake has been crazy lately. Can you believe it has been weeks since I last caught a brownie? The high water has really put a bummer on my trout fishing style. Thats why I have been primarily Bass fishing. Am going to spend almost everyday next week on Table Rock. Hope I can find some of those Stagers Bill keeps bragging about.

On another note, I got a better look at the sediment build up on the down stream side of the fishing Island today. There is a serious berm built up there. The kiddies will have fun with the bluegills behind it this summer for sure. The water should stay fairly warm in that corner. Well, as warm as it can being in Taney.
