Has anyone used Bass Pro Shops Finley River Waders, yesterday I went shopping with my fience' for my five anneversery gift for myself and since my recent car accident I have been in physical therapy for a back injury and I decided I would try using stocking foot wader to take some of the presure off my back and after spending $160 dollers on a pair of good polorized sunglasses she said my limit was $200 I decided to do some looking around and found the Finley River stocking foot waders that were only like $50 dollers at BPS in St Louis. I was wonder if anyone has used them, they have been getting good reviews on there website but I don't trust there reviewers because I wonder how many work for BPS. Let me know what you guys and gals think.

I think the same thing when I read their reviews. I bet none of them are real.

You might search the board. I remember a discussion a few years ago. Seems like they were not that breathable.

I bought a pair from LL Bean for $60 around Christmas that got good reviews in a magazine. Honestly, I haven't even tried them on yet, but like I said, they got a good review in Fly Fisherman I think. Plus, they have a lifetime warranty, something BP probably doesn't have.

I've had several pairs of BPS waders. They fit me well and were comfortable but despite taking what I thought was good care of them all 3 pairs only lasted about one year. So for me it was much more cost effective to buy a $200 pair of simms waders. I've now got 3+ years in the simms with no problems.

If I had $100 to spend on waders I think I would do as webfreeman said and go with the ll bean waders. I hear good things about their waders.

I'm usually a pretty big cheapo with things.

That being said, I won't buy any more cheap waders. I purchased a pair of Simms Riverteks on a stupid good deal from Feathercraft last fall. They were ~$190 (like $100 less than normal). I have worn them once and they kick the crap out of my old BPS low end breathables.

At $60-$100 every couple of years for the BPS or Cabelas, to a real quality pair with lifetime warranty is a no brainer. Look around Ebay, there are deals, but you have to be a bit of a sniper, or check google "Simms waders clearance" or "closeout."

You'll be much more satisfied for a longer time. Nothing sucks worse than wet feet on a cold day.

while I agree that the finley river waders are crap I wouldn't say that about all bps waders, If they fail on you every year take them back they have a one year warantee and for an exchange there are basically no questions asked. I had a pair of neoprene red head waders and they lasted 3 years which isn't terrible for only being $80 granted I would go for breathables instead. Simms are nice but darn are they expensive. My recomendation stretch her to 240 and get the tan breathable stockingfoot wader and save the simms for a birthday present in a few years.

ive had numerous pairs of bps waders and these guys are right, they dont last very long at all

heck i wish i could have gotten a year or so out of mine, most didnt last 6 months, and i did take good care of them too.

the seals are junk and will leak shortly, and this was for the highest end bps breathables.

yea yea the one year warranty thing was okay, but who wants to get a leg full of icey cold water frequently and then have to deal with the customer service up there!

i have a couple pairs of simms now and couldnt be happier....my suggestion get the simms and you wont have a complaint

I did a bit of research on these and they are probably made by Hodgman. I just bought them the other day. The reports I have been getting is they are very durable. The new ones are grey and black. The following is the site for Hodgman:
