Gary Lange Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Went out of the State Park and fished then area around the the peninsula on the other side from the Dam and managed to hook into Seven Bass with on Keeper and two that will be by Fall. The rest were 12" to 13" but full of fight. All on a worm rigged on a worm hook with a jig head stuck in the head with hook and eye cut off. had a good morning then that wind came in a blew all afternoon. Had fun!!! :D :D PS: Good meeting you Capt. Joe and had a nice conversation with you at the ramp. Thanks for hooking up the boat for me I appreciated that assistance. Whack'emGood Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Way to go Gary. Nice to hear. If I can't catch them on the conventional tackle that I already use, then I guess I just can't catch them." -LK (WHACK'EM)

Gary Lange Posted May 1, 2008 Author Posted May 1, 2008 S&M looks like today will be busy from KC to the DAM, you see a big blue G3 boat loaded with guys, stop by and say hello! Capt. Don I would have been out on the lake this morning but I broke a fitting on my steering system and lost all my fluid so it was off to HydroTec to get it fixed this morning. Now with the big storms coming tonight and tomorrow It will be Monday before I get out. I leave the lake to the working class on weekends. Respect your Environment and others right to use it!
Whack'emGood Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 By working class... you mean me. Sorry to hear about the problem. Good luck with remedying the situation. Then get back out there and get'em. Gary Lange Posted May 1, 2008 Author Posted May 1, 2008 I mean anyone that works including you. My Weekends started on Jan. 1, 2005 when my Railroad Retirement kicked in and I am forgetting what day it is already. HydroTec fixed me up this morning so Monday I will be on the water. Tomorrow is big storms and I been in Storms in Chicago on Lake Michigan so I stay home during storms. Respect your Environment and others right to use it!
Whack'emGood Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Congrats on your retirement. My grandpa worked the railroad for MKT in Kansas for years. Good to hear about the fix. Yeah, I stay off the water when any bad weather threatens too. Its just not smart to risk it. Good luck next week on the water. Chief Grey Bear Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 Hey that pretty cool. I spent 12 years as a rail myself. I then decided being home to teach my kids about the outdoors was more important. Man I miss it like crazy though. I used to work out of KC for the IMRL long ago and had to deliver to 18th street one night. Got over there and finally got into the yard. Got to the other end and cut off and hollered at the Yrd Master for about 45 minutes. Not a sound out him. He was talking to everyone else but us. I told my conductor to line us in the track next to us since it was clear. When we got to the other end and he saw us, he decided he wanted to talk to us. We didn't answer for a little bit and then I finally talked to him. He wanted to know if we made it a habit to just go running around others yards. I explained that we had been calling for him for 45 minutes and since it was a clear track, he wouldn't speak to us, and that it was in yard limits, we didn't break any written rule. It was silent and we were then lined up to head back home.
