Anyone night fishing? We went last night, put in campbell point and fished up towards Baxter until 12:30. managed to catch 7 fish with 2 keepers. One keeper K and one LM about 4lb. No specific pattern whre they were. The keeper LM was right on the bank in a bush and the keeper K was out in 25 ft water. All the fish we caught were on a football jig tipped with a watermelon craw and a couple on 8" black neon worm.

I have not gotten out yet but plan on it this weekend and will post results. I'm pretty sure Old 86 is fishing their night tournys now but I don't know where they are putting out of. If anyone knows the situation on this please post.

Watch that trash after dark. We were out late last weekend and narrowly pasted a 15 - 20 foot floating cedar.

Tucker, there is a tourny series that was supposed to be going out of 86 that is now going out of Cow Creek instead due to high water. The next one is next Friday night. They are every other week. I've heard they have had trouble catching them after dark also. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. If it is the same usual guys putting it on it is usually a good time. If anyone reads this and likes to fish small jackpot tournys ($35), this little night tourny is worth it.

Tucker, the tourny you are talking about is still scheduled for 86 and will not start until you can launch there. The other tourny out of Cow Creek cost $50 plus $10 big bass. It is called the Honey Hole series.

There is also a night tourney out of campbell point campground that starts at 7:30pm until 1:00am. I think its like $30 to $35 per boat. Usually when its normal power pool there's about 20 boats, but it seems like since the flood has come around, and gas prices are high there have only been 6 to 10 boats. Its a fun little tournament.

It took almost 15 pounds for 1st and 11 something for 2nd. Night fishing is starting to pick up. We had 4 keepers, but no size. We caught them all in about 20 feet of water on jigs. Seen a lot of fish cruising before dark but they wouldn't hit anything. I love to throw spinnerbait at night and it has been extremely tough to get a bite on the spinnerbait at night. It is very slow fishing right now at night, but it beats what it was a couple of weeks ago. It should only improve over the next couple of weeks.

We need to keep this going about night fishing you don't usually hear much about it. :D

Thanks lymore. I agree that we need to keep a topic about night fishing going. I, for one, am very interested in night fishing. It is really my passion... for whatever reason, I enjoy night fishing much more than any day fishing. We went Saturday and fished the afternoon and about an hour and a half after dark to try it for the first time this year. We caught 4 before dark, then I caught one really nice SJ about 30 minutes after dark on a jig. We fished for about another hour after that with nothing before we decided to call it a night. I am hoping it will pick up substantially soon. Thanks again. Please keep the night reports coming fellas. ;)
