Has Anyone Been On The River?

River at 4.83 ft and not dropping very fast. Has anyone been on the river? I am mostly concerned with Turner to Riverton stretch. We are planning a trip in early June with kids. I am hoping the stretch has been cleared of obstructions and is safe by then. There doesn't appear to be any traffice right now.

No one has had any problems through that stretch that I have put on the river, you'll be fine. It simply is going to be a high water year. I'll be guiding that stretch the 19th and will report. The water has much more clarity than I have ever seen at this level.

Hey Brian,

I will have a group coming on the 13th of June, starting the float that afternoon thru sat nite and leaving sun late morning. I was figuring you would have the info on spots to camp. We will be renting 1 canoe and shuttling another. How much are the rates for the rental and shuttle? Also, we will be targeting smallmouth so do you have any suggestions on equipment and tackle. If levels continue to stay like they are, and I think they will still be similar. Thomasville to Cane Bluff or Cane bluff to Greer or both might be the best choice. All of that water is very good for smallmouth. For a one day float, I'd choose either and for overnight I'd do both. On an overnight, I'd camp at Denny Hollow, an abandoned usfs camp site, or Cane Bluff (not as private). I'll email you rates.

How do you think the canoe traffic will be this Memorial Day weekend on the upper stretches (compared to years past)? I know the Eleven Point doesn't get nearly as much trafffic as most of the spring fed rivers in Missouri. Hoping most floaters put in down river @ Greer.

There will be some traffic up there, but much less than most river I suspect.

Delvis from the land of Elvis??? ksir10, that was a jab shot at someone else....I do believe!!! Welcome to the forum and looking forward to the next trip. The way things are looking, the trout may be hard to slay.....maybe not!!! Since I posted, therefore the edit,I was in a local meat shop where an employee makes an annual trip with a group...was told two in their group made a midweek trip in the last 10 days and caught plenty of trout between Turner and Riverton....!!! That is the kind of news been waiting to hear!!!
