Members KansasBoy13 Posted May 14, 2008 Members Posted May 14, 2008 I have been jonesin' to catch some catfish a lot lately, problem is I have no idea around here to go...I live in Branson but willing to drive up to an hour or so, so I was wondering if anyone could put me in a general direction of a decent place to go. The few times I went up by Springfield Lake dam I saw several people catfishing on the Springfield Lake side, is that a nice hunny hole? Obviously, I dont want anyone's secret spots but just a general area of a particular lake. I would be bank fishing tho and I dont care about catching anything big but would just love to get into some of them. Thanks in advance for anything you fellas share.
Trav Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Bank fishing is rough here in the ozarks. Soo much private land. Not enough public access. When I used to bank fish alot, I loved to fish Flat Creek for cats at night. My favorite spot was always under Flat Creek Bridge. Last time I took my son ( who was 16 at the time) and we caught about 30 of them fiesty channels. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
zander Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 I was going to tell you my Lake Springfield honey hole location, but I kept looking at your avatar..... if you change it I'll let you know
Trav Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Ha ha Zander that was funny. Lets remember that the cubbys still havent won a world series! We should show some pity for the guy! "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
Jason Essary Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 LOL not much on the cubby fan either. Cant believe they re trying to get Jim Edmonds...guess its ok for them to have our seconds. lol. Anyways, been catching a lot of flatheads on tablerock, in the Lower end. I use trotlines, but might spend a night out this weekend. Ive tried all types of bait, but the best by far right now for me is sunfish (keep them under 5" to be legal ive found out). 15 to 25' in small cuts are the most productive. Members KansasBoy13 Posted May 14, 2008 Author Members Posted May 14, 2008 We have ZERO interest in Jim Edmonds or any OF for that matter right now, we signed Reed Johnson, thank you. And we have two series titles Trav not zero, oh and maybe it has been 100 years but we're still around unlike many...nevermind... Anyway thanks...I suppose!
Jason Essary Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Kansas boy, didnt mean to get u rialed up. Cubs are signing Jimmy though, that is if he passes a physical. He was released by the padres last week. "Felix Pie has been unreliable. Signing Edmonds could allow the Cubs to send Pie to Triple-A Iowa for steady work" quote from cubs organization. Guess they had some money they needed to use up, as he had an 8 million dollar deal for this year that someone has to pay. Cards gave 2 mill to the padres to take him, dont know what the padres will pay to get rid of him. anyways, good luck cattin... Members KansasBoy13 Posted May 15, 2008 Author Members Posted May 15, 2008 Eh, I'm always rialed up about baseball only thing i love more than fishing i think... But I read that right after I posted that text, I feel like a horse's backside Why would they do that tho! Never could stand Edmonds, why not Kenny Lofton?? Must be that curious move the Cubs make every year like last year's was signing Traschel ugh....But Felix is really really starting to depress me, can not hit major league pitching at all, great defense just yeah...
Jason Essary Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 They also commented that they wanted anouther left-hand bat in the lineup. but his average in san was only like 175!!! I dont understand it either but I do know one thing, if ever givin the chance, he will win a big game against the cards for your team. Always happens when a big name switches, esp if they go to a rival team, and If i remember right st. L and cubs are sort of a rival....(haha). Members KansasBoy13 Posted May 15, 2008 Author Members Posted May 15, 2008 I have heard rumors of Cubs and Cardinals being a rivalry...hmmm, but yeah he's a bit past his prime I personally love the idea of a Johnson-Lofton platoon in center and Lofton is a left-handed bat that can still hit at least .280 but its the Cubs. Done more good than bad in the last two offseasons so can't be too awful upset with them, just gotta let this one go and you're very right usually a player that goes to a rivalry at least has one decisive play in a game....Dare I say c'mon Jimmy
