Danimal Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Awesome. What were they hitting in the murky water? I'm thinking of taking my fiance over there in the morning for her first trout action on a flyrod. Dan-o RELEASE THOSE BROWNIES!!
Okieflyfisher53 Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Dan, Black or brown woolies worked. I also caught some on a chartreuse/orange fly that I tie to simulate the "Trout Magnet' lure. Steve
Members 4wtMartin Posted June 10, 2008 Members Posted June 10, 2008 Of course just when you think they actually are going to start a regular schedule of allowing the water to be down on the weekend in order to fish --- they decide to run the water high all weekend....... I would love to take a couple quiet weekdays off to fish with it being less crowded, but I guess with all this rain the water is going to be high into August. Scott Yeah I think this last rain event with 3-5" probably pretty much toasted us on fishing for the rest of the summer. I'm planning a colorado trip, I guess all the money I'll save on driving to the lower illinois I will be able to extend my Colorado trip. Major bummer but its good for the fish. There will be some really nice fish in there at the end of summer beginning of fall. good luck to everyone. 4wt Martin
