Members Shawn Posted May 18, 2008 Author Members Posted May 18, 2008 it is. fishing from the back of the boat is hard especially when the guy in front is fishing for himself and anything goes. Pre-fishing i usually go with my dad and we both work 45 hours a week so we r always finding ourselves searching for a pattern. i finally got it down today. to Carolina Riggin for Post Spawn fish. and shakey head with a green senko for spawning females or males guarding fry. Fish r very few and far between. but i hope to do good. ive had 2 top 10's like to win one. but i can only wish.
Andy & JoAnne Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Good luck to you. I used to fish ameteure tounaments on Lake Fork and Sam Rayburn in Texas. Never placed higher than 3rd but it was a blast and what good fishing. Living in the Northwest now and really missing "good" fishing but soon to be returning to Ozark Country.
Members Shawn Posted May 20, 2008 Author Members Posted May 20, 2008 i got 11th. still won $200 i had 6.26 in 3 fish post spawn fish. i had the first two by 7:30. one right after the other came off same bed. guardin fry. thats what every fish i saw was doin. had 3rd at 11. i had two average kentuckies and 1 decent largemouth. I bet you were so far in the zone you could feel the lure's action at the end of your carefully adjusted line.. Definitely exhileratin' man!!! Congrats on your win, any time you can fish and get money for it it's a good thing.... Next time you get to Lebanon bring me along and show me how it's done! cricket.c21.com
Members Shawn Posted May 20, 2008 Author Members Posted May 20, 2008 haha. yea i was in the zone all day. my pro would ask me something and i wouldnt hear him and he would repeat himself. and then i would say huh? haha. but if u werent in the zone you wouldn't feel the bite. 2 ways the fish bit. either when u tightened your line you would feel just a difference like going through grass. and just to check u would set the hook and you would of send your hook through the side of the mouth and the fight would begin....or you wouldn't feel a thing you would have to just stare your line down and you would see it take off like a rocket. i stared at my line so long and hard, if i looked away i couldn't see squat. i had a lot of fun. cant wait for next tournament at Truman Lake in June. Should be awesome. I race dirt track at monett also. Just another passion of mine. But sometime this year i hope to try out I-44 Speedway. I'd like to go fishing any day of the week. Be more than glad to show u some stuff. Don't know much but enough to get it done. Just would like to go Pro in B.A.S.S. or FLW someday.
