Members fisher19 Posted May 16, 2008 Members Posted May 16, 2008 Hey guys, been going to fellows for the last couple of weeks and haven't been catchin anything. Wondering if anybody else is doing any good. And anytime we go the bridge is always full of people, so does anyone know any other spots that there might be crappie holding. Or if there is any place just to catch some bass there.
Daddy Carp Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 I have been hearing that it is off with all the rain & high water we have had. May be that they are in a spawning pattern now too. Is the Marina open there during the week now so I can get a permit for my boat? If so, do you know during what hours? Hope it picks up, I want to fish that lake this spring!
Members JRay Posted May 16, 2008 Members Posted May 16, 2008 The marina is open. I was there around noon on Wednesday and purchased my 2008 sticker. I guess this is the last year that it will be $5, its supposed to be $15 next year. The phone number for the marina is 833-2058.

It's about a 45 min. haul from Rockaway and, at the price of gas now, I would cry & kick my feet if I made the trip and they were closed (I normally don't do that unless I watch a 6# bass spit my lure back in the boat after a 5 min. tussel!). LOL Have a good one & best of luck........D.C.
Hunter91 Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 I was out there last Thursday. We caught 12 crappie from 8-11 inches on jigs. They were in 20+ FOW. Very slow presentation with jigs. Hard to feel them pick up the bait.
Members fisher19 Posted May 26, 2008 Author Members Posted May 26, 2008 Went to fellows thursday with some luck finally. Caught 18-20 crappie a walley and about 4 or 5 perch they were a round 16-20ft. The later it got the more we caught. Wish there wasnt a set time to be off the lake cause im sure we could have caught a lot more.
