Last weekend I picked up my new, new to me, Pelican 12ft Ram-X Jon. I have been looking for one of these or a Coleman Crawdad for a couple of months and finally hit pay dirt.

The kids had to go to a birthday party at the skating rink and I took the opportunity to get in a little fishing today. Very little. The wife and I hit the water at 2:15 and had to leave at 3:30.

Things started out real slow. Then finally I got a 14 inch Brownie on a Wiggle Wart. I soon put on a Spinner Bait with 15 minutes to go and caught another 12 inch brownie and a 10 1/2 inch Goggle Eye that looked to have swallowed a baseball. It was just a beautiful fish. The colors were so vibrant.

Chief-

Any suggestions on areas to float Shoal Creek to do some fishing. I have some family near Joplin and wanted to float and fish 5-7 miles when I'm visiting. Or even longer if it's possible to pull off an overnighter-

When ya coming?

Cherry Corner to either Allen Bridge, 3-4 hrs, or Lime Kiln another 3-4 hrs, depending on how fast you float, can be really good.

Lime Kiln to Tipton Ford can be a 10+ hr float. It has some really nice water. You may see some company on this one. There is a spot or two along Scenic Rd that you could take out if that is too long.

If you are gonna be in the Joplin area, Center Creek is a great float too.
