Daddy Carp Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Anyone planning on fishing or traveling on the lake around Rockaway Beach on the weekend of May 31 & June 1 be aware that there will be times the area will be closed due to Hydroplane races at Rockaway. There will be Director/Flag boats at each end of the course to direct or halt traffic so that no one gets hurt. The water patrol will be present and the traffic movements will be strictly enforced. They will keep traffic flowing as well as possible but you might expect a possible short wait during racing heats.
Trav Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Let Me get out my ear plugs! I have a knickname for those noisy boats. BumbleBees. I cant stand them. I cant even hear my television when they are running. And it never fails, some dumb*sses insist to think my dock is a public mooring station. Last year there were beer cans all over my dock. Same thing happens on July 4th during the fireworks. I think this weekend I will go down and flag down the water patrol and explain my problem with it. Maybe they will enforce private property laws. Fat chance, but it may be worth a try. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
Daddy Carp Posted May 21, 2008 Author Posted May 21, 2008 I'll see if I can get with the guys in the flag boats or the waterpatrol that day & let them know. You are the one closest to RB, right, not on down towards the point across from Cedar?
Trav Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Right. The only one on the current side, directly across from the conoco station. Thanks DC "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
