Larry Richards Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 I have heard talk that they are thinking of closing Lake Norfork to swimming because of the bacteria in the water from the decaying brush and trees in the water.Has anyone heard anything about this. The water is turning a cloudy pea green. It seems to be getting worse as the water warms. Fishing Report.. I have been catching a lot of nice smallmouth on main lake shorelines on 1/2 oz jigs and Jerkbaits.
catman70 Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 I haven't heard of it, but I'd think a more likely explination is that the flooding washed a lot of stuff into the water – everything for trash to septic waste. Hope I'm wrong, though.
taxidermist Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Just a rumor, he PPM is well under the limits. The warm shallow waters are allowing sort of an alge bllom early. If you hear a rumors just callt he COE office and ask they will tell you. samething is happening on Bull SHoals and Table Rock.
