This was taken from our condo balcony. I was able to walk 200 yards and blind cast to bones.

My lovely better half enjoying the view during our deep water charter that was very exciting within the first 20 minutes. We had a 400 lb + marlin, according to the Captain, hit. I was up with Captain Tony and got to see the take. Amazing! He made a quick turn to the port side and made one jump and then went south. He spun off 700 yards before you could blink and then he was gone. Broke off. That was all the excitement we had the rest of the day. We did get to see 150 lb tuna busting a bait ball. It amazed me to see them jump as high as they did. By the time we got to them they were gone.

One of the many flats I walked to fly fish for bones. I was able to cast to many bones and had only one look at the fly. According to the guide, the numbers were high but the hookups (or lack of) were common. He did say that I should have had a couple hit, but no such luck. He felt so bad about the lack of hookups, he gave a free day of guiding, but still nothing.

For those that say there are no flats on Oahu. I laugh at that. I bet I walked on over 500 acres of flats and was able to cast to bones that were from 4-15 lbs. and that were as close as 10 ft and as far as 100 ft away.

I apologize for not posting sooner.
