I didn't listen to all the recommendations of rigging them with a jig head. I like texas rigging. But that's just me. I might of lost a couple of fish by doing it this way, but I didn't snag near as much either.

Well we are back in Texas from our yearly float. The river was great this year, the first day it was running at 5. Water was perfect and the fish must have thought so to. We started out at Woolum on thursday and floated for a couple of miles and put up camp. On friday we played more than we floated but with 4 kids on the trip who cares. We camped just down from Bakers Ford and just after we set up camp the bottom fell out. I don't know how much rain fell but it was alot. The storm had alot of lighting in it. It finally passed and it was a pretty evening. On saturday we floated on to Hwy. 65 and just up stream I think it is Calf Creek, was pouring mud into the river and it was this way to the take out. In all it was a great trip and can not wait till next year. Thur. and Fri. it seemed as if we were the only people on the river, but sat. is a different breed of animal. There were people everywhere and they started early to. We caught alot of small mouth and several keepers. I had one up to my feet on Thur. evening that would have pushed the 2lb. range. Most all fish caught on rapalas.
