I am itchin' to do some night fishing for bass. We tried it once... about 3 weeks ago... with very meager results. There hasn't been any talk at all lately on the forum. Has anyone been going? I would imagine that with the water temps nearing 80* it would be starting to pick up after dark. Any results/info. would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

I talked to a couple of guys that fish the Friday nighters out of Campbell point, and they said that once the sun goes down forget it. The fish just won't seem to bite. I went out til' dark on Tuesday night in the Shell Knob area and only mamaged two keepers just before dark fishing a Texas rigged baby brush hog.

I went wednesday night 5pm-11pm. I had 5 keepers only one after dark it came on a main lake point in 15 feet of water on c-rig . I caught several shorts but the keepers (for me) were hard to come by after the dark.

I tried night fishing several times last year. I never caught a single fish in most trips.

Some people have the ability and talent to do something just right.....some don't.

I still like night fishing though. With the water warming up, the fish feel like their half-cooked. Nothing like getting slammed on a buzzbait at 3:00 in the morning. Gotta love it!

Personally, I think night fishing is just about prime right now on Beaver Lake so I would imagine Table Rock is probably the same.

I hope it picks up as it gets warmer but my experience shows catching bass at night during extremely high water is very difficult to say the least. However, it's still nice to be on the lake at that time.

Whack'em, We went to Cape Fair last Saturday night. We put in at 9:00 pm and fished until 2:00 am. I did not boat a fish and my partner caught one dink. I can honestly say I only had one bite all night. We fished shallow, deep and everywhere in between. We went up in flat creek and fished every spot I knew all the way to Piney creek. They just were not there. I heard rumor that the Cape Fair night tourney the week before had ZERO fish weighed in. I think for now a guy is going to have to stay around the Baxter/Campbell point area at night. Anyway all my buddies are doing okay in these areas right now.
