Members mdolomieu1 Posted June 17, 2008 Members Posted June 17, 2008 I have done the float from Charity to Hico, and it is a good one, but I've always been curious about the stretch below Hico, down to Big John. Has anyone every floated this stretch that could provide us with some info? What's the distance down to Big John? Are there any accesses between Hico and Big John? And, of course, how's the fishing? (Though I certainly don't expect anyone to give up a secret spot!)
Members That_Guy Posted June 18, 2008 Members Posted June 18, 2008 It’s a good float but way to far to float in one day and really fish it. We are planning on floating that stretch this weekend unless the rivers come back up. There are no public access in-between hico and big johns, which is why we are taking two days to do it. We had permission to the river there, at about the halfway point and its still a full day float on down to big johns. I'm not saying it cant be done in one day because I know it can, it's just how hard you want to work at it. Meat Without Feet
