I watch all those shows that come on something about it just is intriging to me, the possibilty that it's true or that there are people out there that are brave enough to sy they seen something that wasn't there, big black cats (panthers), big foot, the "momo monster" a bigfoot creature of lore here in Missouri from around the late 60's up around Hannibal, Mo. Anyway you get the idea, I then read in Les strouds journal from one of his shows which is available on his website, Yes he does all the foot work, camera work, survival, and still keeps a journal. that he was spooked from a growling noise while doing one of his shows in Canada, knowing all the native species and the noise could not have came from one of them. Les is the man by the way, Bear Grylles, close second,...

I thought I'd just put the question out there to you guys if you have ever had an "unexplainable" siting or experience while in the great outdoors. (no I didn't hit the peace pipe before loggin in today). Just curious,...

I have heard alot of strange noises in the woods. I am an avid boe hunter and spring turkey hunter. herd bark flying and some kind of bird dying and alot of growling one morning and the night before heard what sounded like an old lady screaming. dont know what animal makes a noise like that but it will sure make your hair stand up in the dark boath times. but the best one is always walking in the dark and step in a covey of quail that has happed to me lots of times and I almost have to chang my underware every time.

Haha

Do we believe in the boogey man?

I have heard sounds myself.

Coyotes, wolves, lots of birds, animals fighting amongst themselves, mountain lions, Bears breaking into my camper, Packs of stray dogs chasing dinner, fox on a trail, rats in the chicken feed, rattlers under the porch, possums in my garbage, coons scratching after the peanut butter sandwich I left in my tackle box, bobcats climbing trees, squirrels barking at my dog, cars driving on private property, tourists on my dock, deer rutting my dogwoods, otters eating the foam from under my dock, ducks chasing off the geese, neighbors crowding my seclusion, the drunks at closing time at local rockaway beach bars, the cops that bust them, the bugs at my porch light, and lets not forget ........

my coonhound going ape over every one of those sounds.

Boogey man, no. and sorry about being on your dock, LOL. Just kiddin. I've heard all those things too.

Not so much a beleiver in suck things as curious. My dear old grandfather has always told me stories of black panthers for years and years, killing his cattle stuff like that, and accoriding to every consevation agency, and animal expert they simply don't exist around here. I do understand that they have found a black leaopard in califonia or somewhere and that a small population of them have came up from south america or something, And I my self have heard the "screams" in the night of cats. (not deer, although they can sound pretty creepy).

Isn't believing the most educated decision? I came up with that theory back with the Y2k scare and now the upcoming 2012 end of times or "world enlightenment" theory thats floating around thanks to the mayan calender,... If you beleive and are wrong then your still ok, if you choose not to believe and ae wrong, you are then fishing up that creek without a paddle so to speak,.. and no fox_76 doesn't stand for x-files "fox moulder" LOL

Quail huh?!! Almost as elusive as BigFoot!!! I have heard they are making a comeback,.. just wish people would understand that a nice neat pretty fencerow is nice,.. and cleaning up the old brushpile in the back 40 probably was long over due,....but those little birds need a place to hang out too!!!

Black panthers may be rare in these parts, nowadays, but I have seen one. I was coon hunting back when I was 12 years old. The dogs pinned one on a cliff ledge. Probably a mile from my house. We called the dogs off and let it go.

So, they at least existed in the early 80s.

And , being the resident Athiast on this forumn, I will say, I find it hard to believe in anything I cant see or touch.

I haven't heard anyone even say"MoMo Monster" since I was a kid. At the time, even at 11 years old, I thought it was made up. Good to hear that at least the name was real.

I have seen a panther in the headlights about 20 years back and heard a very big cat ( not a house cat) panting in the dark at the lime quarry I was working near Neosho. A co-worker took me into a few of the old mines and we saw some very big cat tracks.

As for Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster, I hope that they exist but sort of hope they are never captured for obvious reasons.

If fishing was easy it would be called catching.

we leave alot of weeds and brush piles just for the quail we have managed to get 4 coveys of them spread out on 400 acers we buy 100 every year to hunt and leave the wild birds alone for the most part but sometimes they are in the wrong place at the wrong time and kill a few but if 10 wild birds dont come up on the rise no shots are fired. has anyone else ever steped into a covey in the dark? garenteed to make your heart race.
