Members Bad cast Posted July 2, 2008 Members Posted July 2, 2008 At the last second the wife wants to go to Branson, were gona stay at Taneycomo resort next week And I think its close to the Roark creek area. Never fished this area before, any tips would help. I usally Flyfish below the dam and I think wade fishing is out of the question by the resort. I promised her the car to shop if I can stay on the lake. I'll fish a couple nights at the dam but the rest of the time around the resort. I'm open for ideas. Thanks Randy
bigredbirdfan Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 There are several places you could bank fish or fish from public fishing piers or docks. They are located on Taneycomo at Roark Creek and further up toward Hollister Bridge at the Branson Campground on the other side of Branson Landing at the Bass Pro Shop end. You will want to use bait on the bottom more than likely at these spots. I am sure you will get more responses then mine but I fish from a boat at this location and see a fair amount of fish caught by people fishing there.
Thom Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 If you don't mind spending a little you can drive up to Lilly's and rent one of his jon boats reasonablely or one from scotty's down from the landing. Then you can motor upstream or in that area and fly fish as you float back down. Thom Harvengt
