Bittle Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 I'm looking to do some canoeing and want to take the wife. She however, is a fair water canoer. I was wondering if the water levels are tough, fast, etc.. Let me know. Thanks. Bittle
flyfishmaster Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Bittle, Here is the link to the Meramec stream gage at Steeleville Mer @ Stville If you look at the "discharge" chart, it is show a bit higher than "normal" flow, but the number are not that bad. It looks like a perfect flow for canoeing. Rember anything around 400 cfs on the Meramec is very wadable. Later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
bikehikefish Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I waded the trophy trout area between Meramec Springs and Cardiac Hill last Thursday, and water levels are perfect for floating. But keep an eye on the levels as the previous poster suggested; a good rain can change things very fast.
