Members smoke20 Posted July 8, 2008 Members Posted July 8, 2008 me and and a buddy went and fished below bagnell lastnight right above the boat ramp i caught 25 crappie he had 15 we fished about 3 hours before dark most came on a red and white jig had sevral in the 13 inch range they where running lots of water all the flood gates where open
creek wader Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Thanks for the report, may have to try it Wed. Were you bouncing the bottom? What size jig heads were you using? When I tried it this spring, the 1/16 oz. couldn't get to the bottom in the current and the 1/8 oz. were snagging up. I just couldn't get it right. I lost about a doz. jigs then gave up. wader

They were releasing quite a bit of water. I did the monkey see, monkey do thing and fished in the current next to everyone else. I guess, I should of tried the slack water, just above the boat ramp.
