CMAC Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Fished the Bryant near 95 slab; caught 6 wading the creek in about 2 1/2 hours. Boy what a difference the high water can make. Especially how it can move some gravel. All smallmouth on a variety: tubes, cranks, and top water. Nothing big all around 12-14 inches, but all were fat and fighters no doubt.
catman70 Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 They turn broadside in that heavy current and it's a fight, no doubt. Makes a 13"er feel almost twice as big! I was down over the 4th for a spell and had a great time. Had one interesting thing happen: We left a couple kayaks by the river overnight. When we came back to them the next day they had leaches in them. You suppose the leaches crawl across the land at night to seek new bodies of water? Maybe I'll put a mop bucket by the river next time to test the theory. They've got to be great bait.
CMAC Posted July 31, 2008 Author Posted July 31, 2008 Never have had one leach on me down there. That is wierd.
