timsfly Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Fishing was very good yesterday, probably landed 30+ fish in 5 hrs, almost all of them on a beetle, stimulator, hopper or a chamois worm, most were on top. Had 2 over 17" one that would have went 20" or better, didnt' get him all the way in Water has returned to normal, good flow and all the mud has washed out mud that was created when the conservation did some stream work mon, and tuesday. Good fishing, so if you want to fish dries, now is a good time to come over. I didn't have much trouble finding a hole to myself, most of the time I could only see one or two other people fishing, I spent the whole 5hrs in zone 2, started at the bottom by the dam and finished up by the hadi-cap dock Oh by the way, anybody thinking about buying a Hardy Angel, fly rod, don't. I just broke mine again yesterday, the 6th time in 3 years, the rod is junk, it does cast nice but it is very expensive and not worth the hassle, I get tired of sending it back twice a year. drew03cmc Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Tim, isn't the Angel a part of Hardy's new Korean made initiative? That can't be good. Andy
timsfly Posted July 25, 2008 Author Posted July 25, 2008 No I think your thinking of the Marksmen, the Angel is a good ole UK rod Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop

Danimal Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 What type and size hopper are you using? Thanks. Dan-o RELEASE THOSE BROWNIES!!
timsfly Posted July 27, 2008 Author Posted July 27, 2008 I'm using a#10 beetle most of the time, and # 10-#14 hoppers have been working best. I've been doing well on a # 12 stimulator, and #16 and #18 adams have been very good in the mornings and late afternoon. ' Been using a daves hopper most of the time, but a parchute hopper sometimes also, yellow or brown bodies have been best for me.
