Anybody ever have one of those weeks were nothing goes right??? It all started Saturday evening when I was backing down the ramp. I hit the starter on my 50 HP and a click was all I got. We broke the motor down tapped on the starter and hit the key again low and behold she fired. Little did we know it would be the last time. We used the troling motor to get from spot to spot catching only small fish with a grub. I decided we would try to pull start the motor, so I cut a piece of my tow rope and after several body straining pulls it fired up. We stopped on a spot we have never fished before and the first fish we caught was 5#, caught four more keepers and lost two 3 + at the boat (lost count of the shorts). I ordered a stater on Sunday but we couldn't wait to go again so we went Tuesday evening. Man am I glad we did, we caught 2 good keepers on the grub then we went to hit our new spot. They were still there but this time they were smallmouth 4# being the biggest (AWESOME). We had 8 keepers and several shorts. So good we went back on Wednesday still no starter. I heard what I thought was a bearing sqeaking on the way down there. When we were taking the straps off I noticed hot black rubber everywere. Upon further inspection I seen my axle was cracked on one side and my wheel was leaning in getting into the fender well. We went ahead and put the boat in and when I put he trolling motor down and hit the power it slid back touching the botom of the boat. Just a loose screw but had to take the motor off the mount to get it put back togethter right. The fishing was still good but had slowed a little 5 keepers and a few shorts. When we were pulling the boat out of the water I heard a big POP and the boat shook, turned out that the threads on my tow hook popped off. Man what a week ! could have been alot worse but I had a great time just fishing!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. I just wanted to thank the guides and everyone else that posts info it is APPRECIATED

Sounds normal to me. A boat is a hole in the water you pour money into.

I know what you mean. I'm not having boat problems but boy my yard is an embarrassment. Good thing I live in the country!

I went to the Rock in May and I should have mowed before I went. When I returned my grass was way up there. So I raised my finish mower up and the wheels were in the air. One of the pins fell out and the wheel fell off and one of the mower blades struck it and broke the blade spindle housing. The part was discontinued and the available option was expensive and required extensive machine shop work to make it fit. So I looked in the paper for a few weeks and have not been able to find a decent used finish mower. Next I checked with all the implement dealers within 150 mile radius and found only one used finish mower. It was $800 and had some problems. I had no idea they would be that hard to find a good used one. Now I have located a couple different mowers that are new but a couple years old, they just never got sold. I may purchase one of them. I think I have learned my lesson to not put off that danged mowing.

Take your pick - Booker T., Albert King, Jimi Hendrix, Cream. All good, all boat owners
