Forsythian Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 A guy at work let me borrow a 2-piece Winston 3 wt. It is an 8 footer, and it is a dark forest green color which I take it to be a WT model. It is good to excellent condition. It is combined with a Ross Canyon reel. Man, he's a good salesman because after a week with it I cannot imagine going back to my stiff St. Croix 5 wt. Anyways, the condition of the combo is used but good to excellent. He's been wanting to sell it to me, but wants me to make an offer. I'm almost afraid to ask, but what might be a good starting offer? thanks a bunch. Cenosillicaphobiac
timsfly Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 200.00-300.00 for the rod, would be a fair price. Not sure what the reel is worth I can't remember what they retailed for, but for a used reel in real good condtion, about 1/2 of the retail price would be a fair price. Forsythian Posted August 2, 2008 Author Posted August 2, 2008 I wound up with the combo for $300 even... I'm a happy dude! Cenosillicaphobiac
drew03cmc Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 You stole that combo...he could have gotten $350 for just the rod, and another $125 for the reel...WOW, you are a hell of a bargainer! Andy
