bobber Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 if you can get out in the heat this is a fun overnight trip . i floated it last weekend. and the bite was from about 4;30 to dark-30!!!! nothing big, but lots of fun. the water isn't as clear as normal, and has some good dark green bottomed pools ...the" narrows " or narrs', is a little better than half way, but great place to camp( if your the first one to it!) or rather the gravel bank is very long and could hold many- people at the same time > but it's nice to have the BEST SPOT!! the upper sections of the buffalo are too low to float ( ponca to pruitt )and this maybe close to the end of the middle sections pruitt to woolum) before the outfitters shut-down for the season, and then every thing moves down stream to Tyler bend to rush. the lower section, you can't make any time on. this part of the river. it's a slower pace this time of year .. you can make a short trip long... but you can't make a long trip short! ... getting on late in the day seems to work, if you roam bank, to bank, only paddling in the shade it's really cool feeling,(outdoor A.C.) and it cools off as soon as the sun dips past the mountains..... AND THEN IT'S ON! <*)))))))>< * AMERICAN CANOE ASSOCIATION CERTIFIED CANOE, and SWIFT WATER RESCUE INSTRUCTOR.*
