Members rls1936 Posted July 31, 2008 Members Posted July 31, 2008 Coming to Taney with my boat in about two weeks. With the current state of generation, how much current is there below Fall creek to the Landing? Trying to figure out what kind of fishing to be ready for. Can you still anchor or do you have to drift fish? Looks like between 8000 and 12000 cfs throughout the day and night. That is about equivalent to two generators, right? I believe four generators is the max - which equates to strong current all the way to the Landing. Any other techniques to try with the current conditions - trolling? Thanks.
Members jlpatton1 Posted July 31, 2008 Members Posted July 31, 2008 Generation seems to be scaling back some.... with Table Rock coming down and the White River System falling below 70% Capacity, the Corps plan changes. Whether they do or not..we'll see but hopefully they'll cut back a little more over the next week. Fishing has been good down here, and we've been doing especially well from the Island down past the landing. The water looks good today.... and lure productivity should increase if that continues. Powerbait / Gulp countinues to work well on the drift, if you like fishing with the soft plastics. Either way, generation or not, fishing is good right now... davekeim Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Water is dropping pretty quick on TR. I can finally walk down the ramp to my boat at Gages. That shuttle boat was a pain. Anchoring on Taney. Usually not a good idea at all when water is running until you get down past the landing. When little water is running I feal comfortable anchoring anywhere below Fall Creek. Always keep a very sharp knife within reach just in case you you have to cut your anchor line. Signed, Cardiac Abdito! Another Beautiful Day In The Ozarks
