The wife and I made it down to BSSP for a few hours today. I did the wet wading thing because it was crazy hot. Caught approx. 20. Started the morning in the Zone 2 riffles. Used olive cracklebacks and swung some olive soft hackles. Moved to Zone 1 in the afternoon and had pretty consistent action on the john deere mini jig around the island. Moved up to gauge house and took 4 on top on a #18 white wulff.

Thanks for the report. How was the 'Human Hatch' there? Probably still crazy during the peak summer. At least the water levels seem to be getting down.

Hey PC good to see your still at it! From the sounds of your report it appears things are back to normal. Not like what we had earlier in the season!!

Dove ... the human hatch was horrible until 10:00 AM (all the parking was full ... looked like opening day .... there had to 50 people standing in line for tags at the store at 5:45 AM)... then it thinned out as the weekenders packed it in and headed back to town.

Pat ... I am pleased to officially declare that the water is "normal", clear, wadable, and full of fish. The usual flavors seemed to work. Soft hackles, cracklebacks, and some dries. I did throw the john deere for a while at mid-day and did OK on it. By the way ... I broke down and bought a LST the other day .... couldn't pass up those clearance deals ... paired it up with some Rio Grand. Anyway, I used it on Sunday .... sweet on the SHs, CBs, and dries. I had no problem flinging them into the fray and the control was suprisingly good.

PC-

I know there is a Sage out there that I love, used it once at Cabela's but the $$$ was way out of my league. I don't think you can go wrong with the LST. What weight did you get?

Trying to figure out an extended weekend to get down there to get my fix since Idaho didn't pan out. My biggest problem is the heat, I can't take Dixie with me. Usually when I leave her in the truck in her kennel I have 2 12v fans blowing on her with the side and back windows propped open. I dare not chance it when the temp's are in the 90's.

Maybe the boss will agree to watch her this one time.

Thanks for the report. I hope to make it in a couple of weeks for a day trip. The wife and I were at Branson the 4th and 5th. It was HOT but saw a couple of good shows. I did take a little side trip and went to Lilly's Landing to say HI. I even went down to the dock and put my hand in the water! Next time I want to stay there and get some fishing in.

The kids will be back in school soon and then the crowds will be lighter at Bennett. Last fall was great.--Jerry

Hey Jerry ... Lookin' forward to getting back down .... maybe we can work something out. It was good to take most of the fish on the surface or just sub-surface. Things are looking up (literally). PC Mike
