Can boats be launched at River Run access? ( I know the ramp will be under water still.)

River Run is still under water and I don't think you can launch there unless you were able to back down the road leading to River Run Campground. It'ld be kind of sketchy trying to turn around on Highway 76...

People have been putting in at Shadowrock just past the motel / restaurant on the Forsyth / Taneyville Road and then parking in the motel parking lot. The water seems to be dropping fairly quick, so, launching at that access may soon be difficult. I put in there last week and the old concrete bridge was partly out of the water. You may have to skirt around the left side of the bridge to get out into the lake.

There was also an access off of Highway 76/160 just East of the 76/160 junction. But, it too may soon be unlaunchable due to dropping water.

How about K Dock?

I haven't been there this year, but in previous high-water years I've launched at that little dip in the road where the high and low roads to the launch ramp split. The water's still a lot higher this year, so I imagine that's all underwater.

Can you launch and find parking where the road goes into the water - maybe around the entrance of the old campground that's been closed for several years?

Hey Sam, someone else will have to help with the launch status at K Dock. I haven't been down that way this year.

Sam, I drove by Kdock today and you can still launch off the end of the road... might be a problem after another foot or two is lost.

I've heard folks can launch opposite River Run, off of Y hwy. River run itself would not be adviseable.

I also heard last month's striper record may have been broken already!

Any chance right below the dam? I haven't driven down there to see where the water is at that access.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
