Kayser Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I'm gonna be on the Lower Lake over Labor day, and while the main attraction will be skiing and boating, I will have some free time in the mornings. I'll have access to a dock that lies in a cove maybe 20' deep, but can walk to shoreline on a bigger part of the lake. Would it be worth my time to fish here, or should I just go to the tailwater for trout if I want to catch fish? Thanks, Rob WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. rps Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Others may disagree, but if I were going to fish on foot that time of year, I would be down on the river.
Members JRay Posted August 8, 2008 Members Posted August 8, 2008 With the water level high, I think it would be tough to walk the bank around Bull Shoals right now unless its a field or a yard.
taxidermist Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Unless there is a major drop in water level like the dam breaks or they open the flood gates, there no bank to fish. I would plan on hitting th river at lest there is some shoreline in the BSSP area to fish.
Members Dumb to fishing Posted September 4, 2008 Members Posted September 4, 2008 So how did the Labor Day fishing on BS go?
Kayser Posted September 4, 2008 Author Posted September 4, 2008 Caught sunfish shallow on shad-raps, and lost a 2-3 lb spot at the boat on a jigging spoon. Went below the dam for a while, and caught a few swinging crawlers through eddies. Saw some nice browns come in on a guide boat, sealed up in Ziplocs. Rob WARNING!!
