Brian Wise Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Hey guys, Just bought the Olympus 850SW and really haven't had a chance to do a whole lot with it. I was wondering how/if you can get unlimited (according to card size of course)time on videos at 30fps. It is only running 10 seconds of video at 30fps but it will run 30 seconds of video at 15fps. Basically, can you run unlimited timed video at 30fps?? and if so how. Brian My Youtube Channel
Members tinner Posted August 9, 2008 Members Posted August 9, 2008 I have been looking at buying that camera myself and just haven't pulled the trigger yet. If you go to Amazon and look up that camera and then check customer reviews there is on that kind of explains some things with the video. What I got out of it is in order to get more than 10 seconds of video at 30 fps you have to have a "M+" card not the standard "M" card. I think once you get the M+ card you can put on as much as the GB rating of the card. Don't take that as gospel because I am far from an expert on these things. Let me know how you like the camera. I like the waterproof, drop, and freeze ratings of the camera. Tim Brinkley
Brian Wise Posted August 9, 2008 Author Posted August 9, 2008 Messing with it today including a carwash benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in which I had my wife test the camera by spraying me while on video I am really liking it. I went ahead and got one of those funky tripods that can wrap around stuff as well, it is really small and can fit in my pack or waders really easily for those self portrait hero shots. Hopefully we will give it a workout not too long from now Tim. Brian My Youtube Channel
RSBreth Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 I have been eyeballing that camera, too. Keep us posted how it holds up. Oh, I love my little "grabber" tripod like that. If you see some of my pictures, the only way I can get a self timed shot sometimes is with a little tripod help.
Micheal Kyle Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Brian I have the 1030SW and I have had it for about 3 months my wife has the 850SW. They are great cameras the only thing that I don't like though is when you want to go from taking a under water shot to above water the camera will fog up on you. Jeremy hunt has had the same thing happen to him . My Pentax Optio did not do that. Still they are great cameras take great photos and great video. I took it to Alaska with me and the video is great what impressed me the most was the sound quality. you can hear everything great. On the video part I had to have Jerry Down at Lawrence Photo Help me you might give them a call. Because he has mine set up perfect. Michael To Know People Is To Know Thier Ways!
Brian Wise Posted August 12, 2008 Author Posted August 12, 2008 Thanks Michael, Ran into the lens fogging up this weekend. I'll just have to remember to shoot the hero shots first and then get underwater. Brian My Youtube Channel
