Mikey Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Ok, so I'm not really blind..but I've never fished the little red so I'm blind when it comes to that. We're trying to plan maybe a weekend trip down there and I was wondering where some good access points are to try. I've kinda fooled around using google earth to get an idea of the lay of the land so to speak...but I just don't know where a few guys should go that may be eventful. We're not looking to catch lunkers (though I know that possibility exists there) We're just wanting to try a different river here in the state.. Typically we fish the white at bull shoals or the lower ill. I would appreciate any info given, truly. Mikey Each time I buy a new fly............ My wife gives me the same look........ I give her when she buys another purse... ..............................
Cody Smith Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Will you have access to a boat? Cody S. Smith 501.691.5701 Little Red River & Greers Ferry Lake Fish Greers Ferry Guide Service
Mikey Posted August 10, 2008 Author Posted August 10, 2008 Quite possibly. We have the boat we used on the white but I don't know if he plans on using it on the little red. Since it is a weekend trip I doubt he will be taking his camper..so maybe some tents and dragging the boat is a possibility. It's my understanding that the little red fishes pretty well from a boat tho...true? Each time I buy a new fly............ My wife gives me the same look........ Cody Smith Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Boat for the Camper would be a superb sacrifice..... IMO the river definately fishes better from a boat simply b/c your covering new water or "good runs" a couple of times. Lobo would be a good section to fish from Libby Shoal down to Mossy. You can locate this section on any river map. This area holds great opportunity for both larger brown's and lots o` bows. Easy to navigate and you should be able to figure it out rather quickly~ Cody S. Smith 501.691.5701 Little Red River & Greers Ferry Lake Fish Greers Ferry Guide Service
