If a guy lived in Springfield and wanted to catch a mess o' bluegills

fly-fishing, spin fishing, or watching a float.....bank or boat;

where would you recommend he go?

I'd like to go Friday eve...

Mama's fish hungry.

Thanks.

Don't know about Springfield but if you find them let me know. I'm looking for the same thing here in Kansas City.

I am not sure what your size preferance is, but the lower taney has the highest percentage of gills between 6 and 10 inches than any public water in the state. I fish for those under 5 inches for bait and am lucky to pull in 5 or 6 out of 30 to 40 caught.

I suggest smoke grubs with no wieghts with floating jig heads, with trailers at 6 inch interavals palomar style. You will catch 2 , 3 , and even four at a time.

Bull creek and any little inlet down stream from there that harbors some warmth will hold hundreds of them.

Good luck to ya. You wont need much luck...it is like fishing in a barrel.
