gravel bars

I'm wondering if there are any gravel bars on the eleven point river between Stinking Pond float camp and Horseshoe Bend? I know the eleven point is sparse on gravel bars and I'm looking for a place to camp in that area other than the designated float camps.

It is all national forest so you can pull over anyplace. I think there is either a gravel or sandy area where you could camp in that stretch. If you are going anytime soon, I'd suggest a float camp. It is not likely you would have any neighbors now anyway.

I would recommend a gravel bar over a float camp any day!!! You are on the river...and nothing is sweeter to my ears than the running water of the 11 point. There is a very nice camp site approximately 1/4 to 1/2 mile down river from the Mcdowell public access that enters on horseshoe bend off CR 161. You hit the shoals and then the river makes a 90 degree right. The campsite is on the right ...you cannot miss it!!! The access is hard to see until you are on top of it, but it will be on the left.
