Members cjones10 Posted August 25, 2008 Members Posted August 25, 2008 I have never fished Stockton before. Was thinking about driving up to do some crappie fishing. Would I be better off putting in at cedar bluff and fishing the east arm of the lake or Ruark Bluff and fishing the west arm? I fish lake of the ozarks some and know certain arms of the lake are better than others it seems.
Members bigfish Posted August 25, 2008 Members Posted August 25, 2008 Well Cedar Ridge is what you are refering to it has been very slow around that area as far as I know,I fish crappie tournaments there and no one has done real great or even decent for that matter.I do not fish around ruark bluff often so no report there from me but if I was you I would try to put in at State Park area and fish around there that's where I have been going all year and still doing fair there so good luck to you and hope I was some help.
powerdive Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 We took an accidental limit of keeper crappies (no shorts caught) off a couple east-side points in the Point 6 area of Big Sac on Saturday. We were trolling small cranks on leadcore near bottom at 21-23 feet, trying to catch walleyes; the crappies just kinda got in the way, but we didn't mind. I imagine we could've stopped and jigged up a bunch, but we didn't bother. There are definitely some crappies using most of the marked brushpiles in that area of the lake too--straight off the signs in 18-25 feet of water. Hope that helps.
