Got down to Taney Saturday night about 11:30 with couple of buddies Barry and Jeremy. There were a few cars in the parking lot and looked to be some of the worlds problems being discussed and I'm sure we were solving them faster than anyone in Washington can do. It was great to talk with everyone sorry I did not stick around I was just on a mission and that is to fish with the falling water.

We started fishing above outlet 3 and working our way down to the not so pointy point as we worked down whipping striping streamers we did manage to land a few. As the half moon came up and created some more light I decided to go down to the big hole and the rocking chair hole.

I had my heart set on wading across to the south bank and fishing toward the north but with them holding the water down at power site which made the level up where we were to be at 702.7 you were going to get wet. So we spread out and fished the North bank. We caught several fish striping the good ol Mohair Leech. I was getting hit just about every cast and hooking up on quite a few. I asked Jeremy what color he was using and he was using Evil Leprechaun. Barry was using the Electric Blue,. It was pretty much non stop action until we left at 4:30am

I had not planed to go down on Sunday night but at about 7:30 a very good friend called and said he would come up from Nixa to Springfield and pick me up then go back down south. I think he wanted me to go. Russel and I got down to the dam at about 11:30 ans they had already shut it down only one car in the parking lot. We rigged and went out started out at the point catching a few small ones. I asked Russel if he wanted to catch some bigger fish and after a few comments that I cant repeat I said follow me.

We headed to the Wall of Fame the fishing was slow But when you would catch a fish it was a good one , I caught 21 and quit, Russel said he wanted to tie me so he fished for about 10 minutes longer for one more fish. we caught several fish that were 17-19 inches and very fat. the biggest fish I caught and landed was a 21 incher. Last night we were fishing the Mohair Leeches It pretty much did not matter what color I think I caught a fish on every color I casted. I did try the new Sclupzila and caught a few on it. I will get a pic and down load it Latter

I spotted these fish Last weekend as I motored my drift boat right over them as we drifted back down we caught a few there are a few big boys in there I can here them working the top just no hooks up with them yet. I really think this pattern is going to hold up off at midnight on the weekends.

Here is a pic of a crawdad we we mesasured it and it was about 8 inches long the reel in the picture is a Velocity 2

Awesome crawdaddy specimen...look at the size of those pinchers!

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

The two best times to go fishing? When it is raining and when it is not.

Great report Michael.

This reminds me last year I was out with Zach O.

We were walking on the south bank, when we thought we saw the ground move.. we look down and it wasnt a big like that one (maybe about 5-6in)

I told someone about it (dont remember who).... they kinda laugh at it and said it was BS.. the water was to cold for crawdad up in that area..

I believe it was about this time of year too..

Yep I have had people tell me the same.

I had the camera I took a pic to prove it.

I am a firm believer in crayfish patterns for big browns :D
