Trav Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Went above Bull Creek to find some clear water. It is alot better from Twin Islands to the mouth of Bee Creek. Starting at Bee, I basically just speed fished the whole shoreline to the Twin Islands with a crankbait and a spinnerbait. All that shoreline and only managed to pick up four sport bass. Granted, I was using some pretty big baits and the fish I did catch were real chunks. I must have witnessed over a thousand rainbow trout surface between those two points, spread out over maybe three hours. Most were in the six to eight inch range. What gives? I thought they quit taking those teeny ones from Neosho? Obviuosly not. Anyway, the water was glass, and watching all those fish feed was enjoyable. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. MOBass Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 What set up should I keep on my boat for bass fishin at landing? Bait caster or spinning? Lures?? I will be fishing sunday. Thanks A little late but I'll chime in anyway. I have been throwing a shakey heady with a finess worm or trick worm (trick worm produces better quality most of the time) and a 4 1/2" stick o in one of the watermelon colors. I usually drag the shakey head like I would a split shot rig in the areas that have more rock than the weeds. The sticko gets worked past the dock walkways and in the areas with weeds. I fish it with a twitch pause most of the time with anywhere from a 2 - 10 second pause until I find out what the fish want. That's what works for me. If anyone else fishes this area I would love to see your comments.
