Members sixstring531 Posted September 7, 2008 Members Posted September 7, 2008 My father was down from StL today and we slayed the bass near the dam. Put in a Crabtree Cove (as much as I will say ) and whilst the rain came down, the fish came up. All fish (ok, 1 caught on a Chompers sinko) caught on black buzzbait and zara spooks. Nothing beats topwater fishing in 4-12 ft of water! We caught keeper largemouth, kentucky, smallies and one white bass. We missed some bigger (4+ in my book) bass and my dad lost his favorite zara to what looked like a really good fish. They were hitting the top until we left at noon. The rain was coming down and they kept coming up! I've never caught a 3lb kentucky -- man they fight! Good luck friends. Some nice bass from Saturday (and a wonderful sunrise)
