am4mu Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 When I woke up at Lilleys this morning I stepped outside and lo and behold it appeared that the water had been turned off. Finished packing and before we left town I went up to the outlets. Yes the water definitely was off and the boys seemed to be having a great time. It was interesting to see some of the changes. The big tree in the gauntlet was incredible. If I didn't have my waders etc. buried in the van I would have gone wading if nothing else to get a look at things. Hopefully I can get down there again this fall. This time with the water off when I can actually particpate in the festivities. Oh well, had a great time this week anyway. Any day on Taney beats a day of work in the caves in KC. Doug Doug Kiefer Independence, Mo h: am4mu@comcast.net w: dougk@schulzetool.com
Bman Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 It suprised me too. When I woke up Fri morning, I called the automated gen. report and it said 0 units...YIKES! skipped breakfast shot down there. I went up to the cable and started in trying to memorize the new features as I headed down. If it's any concession to you, they fired up 3 units at noon, eventually going to 4 units. The only good line is a tight line
Jeremy Hunt Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 From what I understand Doug, the new pool at Table Rock is 917 instead of 915. I'll be up this whole next week doing some night trips. It's about time we can have some opportunities to hook some big browns at night. I believe low water at Taney is here to stay. Did you hook any browns, and was there a bunch roaming brown boulevard. What's the biggest you're seeing. That tree kind of screws up the drift doesn't it. I used to walk that whole bank and keep the drift going for days without pick ups and recasting all the time. Did you notice how much it filled in along the bank below chute two. Those browns still hold in there but I don't see a bunch roaming right up next to the bank. The shallower water definitely puts a little more pressure on them during the day. Accept the drift.....<>>><flysandguides.comVisit my blog
