Members gobblergetter Posted October 4, 2008 Members Posted October 4, 2008 Went out this morning for my first hunt of the fall season for the year and connected. Started late in the morning after breakfast i was in the woods around 10 am and found 2 good gobblers pickin around in a field and popped one of em. his body wasnt as big as i had hoped but me and slider decided he was just an old bird we guessed him at around 4 or 5 years old and kinda on his downhill slide. he went 18 and a half pounds and had one spur that was an inch and a quarter and the other an inch and a half. his beard was just shy of 12 inches i have pics but im headed to a hay ride and bonfire so will post them up later tonight. pics are up sorry they are so small i hate working off a scanner. if you click them it will take u to my webshots account and u can view larger photos . good huntin G.G.
