Fantastic Few Hours On The Creek

Hey all I was able to slip away for a few hours and do a little fishing I fished right down town ozark. started at around 11 30 or so and fish till about 2 30. It was by far the best trip iv had in a long time. The holes I fished had in the past few weeks not held any fish but after the water came up and went back down which it is down considerably now and even a bit low, they are there. I was able to catch about 35 goggle eye in the 8 to 10 inch range and a couple or three smaller than 8 inches. 2 crappie one 9 inches and the other 13inches, which was quite a suprise. a caught five or six small mouth most of them very small id say under 5 inches, and one that might have went 12. I also caught a whole pile of bluegill that were very small. and 2 good sized creek chubs. I caught all these on a small crappie tube bate in a crawdad color with some black fleck in them. I would throw into the edge of the current and start a slow retrieve back reeling very slow and just twitching the bait so the bait bounced across the bottom. Once i figured the retreive out that they liked it was almost non stop every cast. all in all it was a great day and its nice to get back on a river without the boats and noise.

yes and no i started there with little luck so i moved down considerably before i started picking up fish.
