Members phins Posted October 10, 2008 Members Posted October 10, 2008 Water levels are normal and the water is just a tad cloudy. Large turnout so I guess with the great weather everyone is getting in 1 more trip. Still no Browns and the fish are standard size. Biggest 1 went under 2lbs caught on a red/white worm. White still the hot color but the fish are picky. Had many of them chase the lures but turn or strike short all day. Better luck on the slow lures like nymphs or jigs over faster spinner lures. Old Iron Works Festival this weekend so be ready to pay $10 to enter the Park.
Bman Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 I am looking forward to the C&R season. Lets hope they stock it up good. The only good line is a tight line
DoveTail Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 What happens to all the trout that are present in November in C&R season, but by late Feb you hardly see any fish? Too many catch and releases? Bigger browns found some snacks? Eagles?
Buzz Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 Speaking of C&R, what are the allowed baits? Is it fly only in the whole park as it is at Roaring River? I'd like to take a trip up there this year if I can, just wanted to know what to expect. Buzz If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
3wt Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 I think it's fly only. You can't allow bait or soft plastics and then expect released fish to survive.
