Well fellow anglers it was an absolutely awsome weekend on the river. I haven't been down to Tan Vat since mother nature did her magic on the stream, but I must commend her on a job well done. The rever below Tan Vat is full of new riffles and a couple of mush deeper and wider holes (full of some darn impressive fish also). My cousin and I fished below Tan Vat for about 4 hours on Sat morning and hooked into and landed several fat and fiesty rainbows. It seemed the magic combo was a #18 hairs ear and a # 22 sparkle wing RS-2. It did them in. There was a very impressive Trico hatch that came about 10 am or so. Remenencing of times in Elevenmile Canyon in Colorado, ( right FFM). Hey Britts you shoiuld have been there. But even as heavy as the hatch was we waited for the rises to start happening and never really developed. I did manage to hook one raindow on a #24 Trico spinner. As a wise guide friend from Colorado would say one on top equals 10 under indicator. On Sunday morning fished right outside of the park and managed a few eager rainbows on the same combo. I do have to say though there weren't as many fish in that part of the river as there normally are and the first corner were they usually are stacked up, not so this time. But must have seen at least 8 very LARGE bows and browns there. But don't think dynamite would have moved them. And by they way where in the heck did all the people in the park come from. HOLY CRAP !!!!!!!! Till next time.

Glad to hear your trip was good. Why didn't you try Eagle Park since the campground was full?

I did not see any mention of using Buckskins during the Trico hatch. That is always a killer. After the park the second big left corner, "the Rock Garden" did you make it down there?

As for the Trico hatch in CO. That was the "Dream Stream" at Spinney that you were swallowing all those Trico on every breath whenever there was a wind direction change.

Wish I would have made it. Sounds like you did some serious "lip rippin".

Trying to put something together for the 29th thru 31st at BSSP. My boss is headed to Texas so it will be just me and Dixie.

Thanks for the report!

ffm.

Didn't get to the rock garden. Cousin and I didn't see didley around the first corner and we were running out of time on Sunday. Didn't swing a buckskin the rs-2 was a killer. Didn't go to eagle park .com we got a site in the park. I couldn't believe the amount of people at Eagle park either. I could have sworn there was a convention down there or something.

Hey Brits let me know 30th and 31st. I might get to sneak away for a day and help you rip the lips of several dozen fish that need a lesson.
