Members bstarbird Posted November 4, 2008 Members Posted November 4, 2008 Hey guys, I'm wanting to take a trip around Thanksgiving to do some trout fishing around Tulsa. I know the Lower isn't stocking right now and I went to Broken Bow about a week ago and had fun. What's the closest place in maybe Missouri or AK? I've heard the White River is exceptional so that's definitely an option. Any input would be appreciated!
Zach Bearden Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Roaring River if you can handle crowds and if its still open. Maybe Taneycomo if you can handle crowds once again. Unless the water just magically gets about 20 degrees colder and they start stocking real soon thats about it. Other than Broken Bow of Course. They are all good fishing if you know how to fish them. Okieflyfisher53 Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 The Beaver tailwater in AR is another option. It is about 30 minutes closer than Roaring River. If you get blown out there, you can drive over to RR. If you don't mind stillwater fishing you can go to Lake Pawhuska. It is a little over an hour drive from Tulsa. Steve
