zsmith62 Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Wow- just about 5 minutes ago I looked up from my laptop screen and saw the banner running the bottom of my screen announcing the election of Barack Obama as the next Commander in Chief of the United States. I can honestly say I've never felt such mixed emotions. On one side, I voted for McCain, and am dissapointed that he didn't win, yet while watching all of the people celebrate the victory, I did gain a sense of hope, and was proud to see as many people participating in the process that makes our country so great. On the other hand, I felt the chill of uncertainty lingering over me as I realized the challenges that will be faced by our new President. I can only hope for the best as our country begins a new chapter. The people of America chose the man they thought would be the best man for the job... We can only pray that we have chosen the right person for the trying times that lie ahead. As a collective population we have given him the highest seat of power we can bestow upon a person. President Obama, you have been chosen, make us proud. Zach Smith
Thom Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 The greatest country in the world let the process work. Two good men ran for the highest office in the land. One of them won. I believe either could have done the job well. Let's all pray that God will lead us all to work together to show the world that Democracy works in the USA. No blood shed, rioting in the streets, or army take overs. America the beautiful, land of the free, God bless America Thom Harvengt

I better start working a lot more overtime. I'm going to to have a lot of welfare recipients that need part of MY paycheck!

I will tell you this....I am almost done with my doctorate (8 months and yes I know I still can't spell) and I still don't trust a man who doesn't hunt or fish. It's that simple. Angler At Law

I hope and pray for our country's sake that his administration is successful. However, the only thing that will really change is our American culture.
