Members BMOE Posted March 18, 2006 Members Posted March 18, 2006 Its been a long time since i've been to eleven point. Before they put wild trout regs on it, around 1988? We floated the river a day or two after a rain and the water was stained. Didn't catch any fish, but had fun floating. How is the river now? I read that there is more trout per mile these days in the blue ribbon area. I've been to the NFOW many times, but the wildness of the elevenpoint has been nagging at me. Are there any areas to wade, say from the hwy19 bridge up to the spring? Hard to remember what it was like. How would belly boats work on it? Maybe need to make an excursion down there soon. Any word on the water right now since we''ve had this rain the past week? thanks, BMOE
Brian Sloss Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 The water is stained and moving pretty swiftly right now, though it is coming down. The fishing is good in the blue ribbon area, but before the 19 bridge becomes wadeable, the water need to drop another 6-8 inches. You could belly boat from the spring to the bridge, but you'd be better off in a canoe, kayak or personal pontoon. You will really miss a lot of the good water if you don't float from shoal to shoal through the whole blue ribbon area. It is only 5.5 miles long, but you can easily make a full day out of that. You really should make a trip down here sometime. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
