Members purefish Posted December 5, 2008 Members Posted December 5, 2008 Puerfish, because you said you caught your fish on a black jig, I'm guessing spinning rod? That was how Ollie kicked our butts today. I couldn't get a bite on any of my flies. Yeah I fly fish a little bit in the right circumstances but for the most part I spin fish. It seems like less work per fish to me, although I do enjoy the fight on a fly rod. I visited crane two times in November and neither time was I disappointed. The first trip was the week before deer season and it was really cloudy, I think I caught 10 including a couple over 16 inches. The next trip was the day after thanksgiving and I think I had 7 that day and dad had 4 all on a jig of some sort. I actually have caught a couple of bigger fish in the town park and my first ever mccloud came from the run below the red bridge. Certainly worth the trip right now. Good luck if you get over there!

Buzz Posted December 6, 2008 Author Posted December 6, 2008 Looks like we probably missed you guys by a little bit. I can't remember what time we got to Jolly Mill but we were the only car there. It was my first time there and it was perfect in the snow...gorgeous. Caught 1 rainbow right below the dam on a Dynamite Worm dropped off of a Red Fox Squirrel Nymph. Brian Sorry we missed you guys Brian. I'm looking forward to the rest of the roadtrip video too. Break my rods!!! Break MY RODS!!! I'll bring the brownies next year. I wouldn't wear waders!! Not unless you cut in an excape hatch and carry a roll of paper!!! (Buzz, don't eat the brownies!) You don't have to worry about me eating any brownies. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
